Dans sa construction de Soi, le sujet est, selon nous, confronté à une double tension. La première résulte de la confrontation ente deux orientations identitaires. Celle du sujet lui-même qui, dans une épreuve relationnelle avec l'autre, se bagarre pour construire son propre projet de Soi sur soi. Celle qui tente de lui assigner ce qu'il doit être pour se conformer au projet d'autrui sur son Soi. La deuxième tension est une conséquence de la première: elle est attisée par les liens d'interdépendance socio-affective et les rapports de pouvoir qui opposent le sujet et l'autrui dans le combat pour l'authenticité de la construction en question. Il s'agit de la détermination de la place et du rôle que prend le sujet dans la définition des contours et de l'orientation du devenir de son «Soi». Ces tensions et combats sont nécessaires pour que le sujet construise sa propre identité considérée ici comme totalité indivisible malgré la multitude de ses composantes. En référence aux considérations ci-dessus, l'auteur aborde dans la partie conclusive les liens entre le projet de Soi et l'engagement en formation des adultes.


In his construction of Himself, the subject is, in our opinion, faced with a double tension. The first one results from the confrontation between two identity orientations; the identity of the subject himself who fight to construct his own project of Himself on himself in a relational ordeal with the others; the identity which attempts to assign him what he must be to conform to the project of the others concerning his own self. The second tension is a consequence of the first one: it is stirred by the socioaffective links of mutual dependence and the power struggle which oppose the subject to the others in the fight for the authenticity of the construction at stake. The problem is the determination of the place and the role taken by the subject in the definition of the outline and the orientation of the future of one's «Self». These tensions and struggles are necessary for the subject to construct his own identity considered here as an indivisible whole in spite of its numerous components. In his conclusion, with reference to the above mentioned considerations, the author tackles the links between the project of Oneself and the adults' commitment to training.
