La notion de professionnel caractérisant le mémoire d'IUFM peut renvoyer, soit à professionnalisation, soit à professionnalité. Dans le premier cas, elle impose au mémoire des critères utilisables dans une rhétorique politique destinée à accroître le prestige de la corporation. Dans le deuxième cas, elle fait référence à la tentative de formalisation des savoirs et habiletés enseignantes. La conjonction de ces deux perspectives invite les acteurs concernés à être vigilants sur les enjeux pouvant détourner le mémoire professionnel de sa fonction de préparation au métier et de retenir des formes d'utilisation des savoirs établis par la recherche qui y contribuent.


The notion of professional which characterizes the IUFM dissertation can allude either to the notion of professionalization or to the notion of professionality. In the first case, it imposes on the dissertation, criteria that can be used in a political rhetoric made to increase the prestige of the profession. In the second case, it refers to the attempt at formalizing the teachers' knowledge and skills. The combination of these two perspectives invites the concerned actors to be careful about the stakes which might divert the professional dissertation from its function of preparation for the teacher’ job and from emphasizing ways of using the knowledge established by the contributing research.
