L'initiation à la recherche comme élément constitutif d'une démarche de formation est présente dans les orientations des dernières années et les discours actuels sur la formation. Après avoir développé la parenté possible entre l'acte de se former et celui d'être en recherche, Gilles Ferry situe le discours et la pratique de la recherche comme un contrepoint à instaurer dans la dynamique de la formation. Contestant l'apporche qui consiste, de son point de vue à lier habituellement l'initiation à la recherche à un modèle pédagogique centré sur les acquisitions, l'auteur suggère et propose que l'activité de recherche soit liée à une pédagogie de la démarche dans une "dynamique du détour", ou/et à une pédagogie de l'analyse.


Initiation into research as a constituent element of any course of training is present in the thinking of recent years and in current lectures on training. After developing the theme of the possible relationship between the act of training and the act of researching, Gilles Ferry fixes upon the discussion and practice of research as a counterpart to be incorporated within the dynamic of teatcher training. Opposing the approach wich consists, to his mind, of habitually combining initiation into research with a pedagogical model centred upon acquired knowledge, the author prepares and proposes a research activity closely allied to a pedagogy rooted in the notion of practical first steps and a "roundabout" approach, or/and a pedagogy of analysis.
