Pays : Allemagne
Langue(s) : anglais
Date : du 05-03-2013 au 06-03-2013
Lieu : Francfort
Organisation : Evidence Informed Policy and Practice in Education in Europe Network (EIPPEE)
in collaboration with the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF)
Programme :
The conference will examine the current state of evidence informed policy and practice across Europe. It will look at how far we have come to ensure that education policy and practice is informed by the best available research evidence and where continued efforts still need to be made. In so doing, the conference will set out the next steps that need to be taken in the policy, practice and study of evidence informed policy and practice and the role of the international EIPPEE Network within this.
Five key questions will guide the content of the conference:
1. What progress have we made in achieving evidence informed policy and practice and in which areas?
2. What are our future visions for evidence informed policy and practice?
3. What are the next steps that we need to take to help us achieve our goals for evidence informed policy and practice?
How do we get to where we want to go?
- What are the next steps for the policy of evidence informed policy and practice? What is the policy about evidence use at individual, organisational, local government, national and international levels? What are our aims for using evidence and what are we trying to achieve?
- What are the next steps for the practice of evidence informed policy and practice? What is the practice of using evidence at individual, organisational, local government, national and international levels? What are we actually doing to encourage research use?
- What are the next steps for the study of evidence informed policy and practice? What research is being carried out on the policies and practices of evidence use? What are the next steps that should be taken in studying research use to help us progress evidence informed policy and practice?
4. How, if at all, does this vary across international, national, organisational and individual level
5. What is the role of the EIPPEE Network within this?
Over 400 people from across Europe and globally have joined and are participating in the EIPPEE Network. There is much interest in this topic and the project as we have seen from the fantastic take-up of places on our training courses and conferences. How do we maintain all of this energy, enthusiasm and experience after the project ends? In what capacities can and should the Network continue to help us achieve our goals in evidence informed policy and practice?
The conference programme will include two sets of five parallel workshops and two poster sessions. The workshop topics are provided below.
- Workshop 1: Enhancing language skills in early childhood
- Workshop 2: School-university knowledge exchange schemes
- Workshop 3: PISA cake? The use of large-scale datasets in policy and practice
- Workshop 4: Supporting evidence use in schools: Using Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a means to effect change
- Workshop 5: The media and evidence - informing the public debate
The deadline for submitting abstracts has now been extended until 17:00 on Monday 4 February 2013.
