NERA 2014 - 42th Annual Congress of the Nordic Educational Research Association - Education for sustainable development – only big words for politicians or a responsibility for education workers?

Date :  du 05-03-2014 au 07-03-2014

Lieu :  Lillehammer

Organisation :  Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA)

Programme :
The UN decade “Education for sustainable development” has come to an end. In the congress we take the opportunity to take a closer look at its goals. Have they been more than slogans for policy initiatives? Have we seen any real changes in curriculas, teaching and learning, planning and developing school buildings? Have educational policies in hundreds of national educational systems all over the world been transformed? As educational researchers we should be able to answer these questions and in the congress participants will have the opportunity to discuss and debate them. You are all invited to take part in this discussion, even if your research interests may be in other directions. These questions are increasingly on the educational policy agenda, and we as researchers should be able to take part in this debate about “our common future”, both as professional educationalists and as human beings. The overarching goal of this congress is that participants will be able to explore and understand the relevance of sustainable development for their daily work with educational problems and policies.
